1. Knowledge:
The graduate of the study programme English Language and Culture in Professional Communication acquires comprehensive knowledge of the English language at an advanced level.
2. Skills:
On the basis of extensive knowledge of the history, culture and realities of English-speaking countries, the graduate of this programme is able to anticipate the dispositional behaviour of foreign and native culture bearers and to guide them in their interaction. He/she knows and uses specific strategies and techniques of translation and interpretation at the level of ordinary and professional communication. Acquires habits for team and individual work, uses modern technologies for work in both casual and professional settings.
3. Professional competences:
The graduate of the study programme English Language and Culture in Professional Communication is proficient in the conceptual apparatus of linguistics, literary science and professional language (e.g. linguistic communication in science and technology, professional communication in health care, professional communication in tourism, etc.). Possesses basic knowledge of translation and interpreting strategies and has acquired an understanding of intercultural communication behaviour. Graduates of this study programme can organise business meetings, professional conferences, symposia, seminars using several working languages.
4. Transferable competences:
A graduate of the second cycle of the study programme English Language and Culture in Professional Communication can manage a team and be part of a team cooperation, e.g. in interpreting activities, can anticipate and model potential situations of communication between representatives of different cultures and societies in order to overcome communication barriers and avoid conflict situations. Able to think creatively and critically, formulate opinions, argue persuasively. Can prepare documents for the management of organisations of any organisational and legal form, prepare and produce information material, produce professional texts in various disciplines. Uses modern technologies to work in both general and professional environments.
Graduates of the second cycle of the study programme English Language and Culture in Professional Communication will find employment in the labour market:

in contact with foreign clientele in the development of cultural and economic relations with foreign countries;

in translation and interpreting activities as a translator and interpreter - he/she will be able to carry out professional translation, interpreting using consecutive and simultaneous techniques, to assist in intercultural communication in various spheres of communication, to facilitate intercultural communication;

find employment in cultural and educational institutions, foreign or international companies in the field of customer service, or customer care "customer service", in the field of advertising and public relations.
