The University of St Cyril and Methodius in Trnava is now in its third year of cooperation with the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO), the main body responsible for selecting staff for the European Union institutions. This cooperation opens the door to job opportunities within the EU and provides our graduates with valuable information about selection processes and career development opportunities.
UCM graduates can apply for competitions published on the EPSO website, where they take tests assessing different skills. Those who achieve a pass rate of at least 50 % are placed on a list of qualified candidates to be considered by the European Union institutions when filling posts. Candidates on this list can be offered a direct job offer, traineeship or career development in prestigious EU institutions, such as those in Brussels or Luxembourg, with the possibility of lifetime employment. EPSO also offers a wide range of online tools to help candidates prepare for tests and interviews.
In January 2025, the UCM Alumni Centre and the UCM Department of International Relations attended a seminar organised by EPSO to learn more about career opportunities and selection procedures in the EU institutions. Lectures and discussions provided an overview of traineeship opportunities, selection processes and the experience of staff working in the EU institutions.
During the seminar, a major announcement was made about the upcoming general selection procedure in June 2025, which represents an exceptional opportunity for UCM graduates to apply for a job in the EU institutions.
