Using of cookies
Use of cookies on www.ucm.sk
The UCM Trnava website uses cookies, which are important to ensure the correct functioning of the website and the services provided.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in the user's web browser (e.g. Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome) on the user's computer (or other device with internet access, e.g. smartphone or tablet). These files ensure that the website visitor is able to easily and quickly retrieve personalised content whenever he or she returns to websites he or she has been to before. Information from cookies is only accessible to the website that created them. Cookies do not contain any other software programs that could run on the user's device with Internet access (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.).
What is the content of cookies?
On the UCM Trnava website, you may encounter both temporary and permanent cookies. Temporary cookies are used in the user's browser when he/she is browsing the website, after leaving the website the files are deleted from the computer (or other device). Persistent cookies remain on the computer (or other device) until they expire or are deleted by the user. They are used, for example, to identify visitors through Google Analyticsfrom GoogleTM. By analysing visitor traffic and behaviour, we then try to improve and personalise the content of our website.
What are the benefits of using cookies?
A cookie is a file that contains information from the user's web browser and from a specific web server. If the web browser accesses the web server again, the server can more easily and quickly retrieve this information and react to the data that is stored in it. Thanks to cookies, we are able to continuously improve and enhance our website.
What are the options for changing settings and removing cookies?
Each user of his/her device can control whether cookies are stored on his/her device. If cookies are enabled (the default action for most Internet browsers), the user can add/edit or delete them as needed. Each Internet browser offers tools that are used to manage cookie settings. The pre-installed settings of most browsers are such that they allow cookies to be stored for all web servers (sites). However, you can change your browser settings to process cookies in different ways.
For example:
- the user confirms or rejects the cookie before each time it is stored on the computer,
the user specifies the behaviour of cookies on specific websites (e.g. their favourites),
the user completely disables the storage of cookies on his/her computer. - For more information on where to find the browser's cookie settings, it is necessary to go to the website of the specific browser manufacturer.
