UCM at the European Mission Soil Week

Marta Kuhnová, Project Manager of the LOESS project, participated on 12.11-13.11.2024 in the European Mission Soil Week in Brussels, where she represented the Horizon Europe funded project within the Mission: Soil LOESS: Literacy boost through an Operational Educational Ecosystem of Societal actors on Soil Health.
LOESS aims to improve environmental literacy and educate societal actors on the importance of soil and soil conservation. Its ambition is to create a practical educational ecosystem that unites professionals, policy actors, businesses and community organizations.
LOESS project representatives from Germany, Serbia and Spain participated in lectures, retreats and workshops aimed at strengthening awareness of soil health.
European Mission Soil Week, where experts, policy makers and the public discuss current challenges and innovations in soil policy and sustainable soil management. The initiative promotes cooperation between different actors and develops concrete actions to improve soil health and its protection for future generations.
Participation in the European Soil Mission Week was not only a great opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas between experts from different countries, but a starting point to expand collaboration and implement new educational strategies in soil conservation.
The event contributed to UCM's efforts to increase the societal impact of its educational and research activities.
