PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY WITH AN EMPHASIS ON BIOETHICS

Characteristics of the research:

The research team has been established for over 10 years, during which it has systematically focused on addressing current bioethical issues (stem cells, transplantations, NBIC technologies in healthcare), primarily from the perspective of practical philosophy. It specifically concentrates on the issues related to so-called emergent technologies, especially on the biotechnology of human genome editing (this year's Nobel Prize was awarded for the discovery of this technology) and the associated philosophical and socio-cultural issues of transhumanism and posthumanism.
