Technologies for Environmental Protection and Restoration

Characteristics of Research:

Development of alternative remediation methods, advancement of radioanalytical methods and techniques (e.g., positron emission tomography, PET), particularly for the determination of metals in environmental components, research on plant molecular stress – linking biomonitoring and analysis of mechanisms of contaminant intake and transport at the molecular level.

New Insights:

New approaches in implementing remediation techniques, development of imaging radioanalytical and diagnostic techniques, new insights into stress responses in plants exposed to environmental contamination (metals, radionuclides).

Usability of Results:

Application potential in the remediation of contaminated environments, research and application practice utilizing radioanalytical techniques and techniques from nuclear medicine, agriculture.

Significant Results in the Last 5 Years:

37 publications in top international journals registered in WoS or SCOPUS;

Over 100 citations according to SCI for publications from 2015-2019;

Patent for the PN-Zirnitra variety (awarded the Golden Sickle at the 44th Agrokomplex exhibition);

Active participation in 7 international and 8 domestic conferences;

Execution of 3 expertises for practice;
