Stabilometric Platform "ALFA"

The ALFA platform enables the assessment of balance and training for neurological and orthopedic patients. This device helps improve performance in patients recovering from head injuries, strokes, and those suffering from multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and muscle dysfunction. Additionally, it accelerates recovery after fractures and sprains of the ankle, and dislocations of the knee and hip. ALFA also facilitates the treatment of patients post-total knee or hip arthroplasty (TEP) or following lower limb amputations. The exercises on the platform aim to stimulate elements of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, which are responsible for balance control, among other functions. These features make the ALFA platform particularly suitable for post-traumatic, post-operative, orthopedic, and neurological rehabilitation for both adult and pediatric patients. The device is also used in sports rehabilitation, rheumatology, and geriatrics.

The ALFA platform works with software to inform patients about their rehabilitation progress, enhancing their motivation.

Balance and Stabilometric Platform: BIODEX BALANCE SYSTEM SD

This device assesses the balance ability of the limbs and trunk, provides feedback, and can be used for both mono and bipedal therapy. It allows for exercise in a closed kinetic chain, works with the distribution of body weight relative to the lower limbs, and provides an objective assessment of balance to evaluate fall risk. The BALANCE SYSTEM SD uses sensors under its platform to detect the function of postural movements. The platform can be fixed against balancing movements (static mode) or released for balance exercises with tilting (dynamic mode). The measured postural movement is displayed on the device screen. The system collects and stores various parameters and values, which can then be printed. FZV (Faculty of health sciences)is the only facility in Slovakia that owns this medical device.

Posturomed 202

The Posturomed 202 is a therapeutic device consisting of an unstable square stepping surface with two brakes and a frame that patients can hold onto if they lose stability. As soon as the patient steps onto the unstable surface of the Posturomed, the surface tilts more with increasing instability of the patient's stance. The instability of the stepping surface is regulated by braking systems. Achieving quality coordination of all muscle groups ensures stability in standing and balance, subsequently improving joint stability and functional posture disorders. Conditions following joint and spine surgeries accompanied by functional instability also improve.
