Christmas and New Year speech of the Rector of UCM
Published: 28.12. 2024
Dear colleagues, dear students, dear friends, esteemed academic community,
on the threshold of the Christmas holidays and the approaching New Year, allow me to address all those who make up our university community and family.
As the year draws to a close, it has been full of challenges, successes, and valuable opportunities. Our university has been able to face challenging circumstances with determination and courage. Each of you has contributed to our growth together - as an educational institution, but also as a community. Thank you for your patience, commitment, and the energy you have devoted to our common goals.
In the coming year, we will face new challenges, but also significant projects that will bring further opportunities for growth. We plan to implement the most extensive investment activities in the history of our university, which will improve our facilities and support the modernization of the educational process. We will focus on cooperation - not only within our university, but also with other institutions, partners and international organisations.
However, the values on which our university is founded remain key to our success: tolerance, openness, empathy and unity. It is only by working together that we can move forward and create an environment in which everyone feels welcome, respected and supported.
Christmas is a time when we remember the importance of peace, understanding and closeness. I wish this holiday season to be filled with joy, health and love for you and your families. May the New Year 2025 bring each of you the opportunity to fulfil your dreams and achieve your goals.
Thank you for your trust, cooperation, and commitment to our University. Together, we are stronger.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
Sincerely
prof. Katarína Slobodová Nováková, PhD.
Rector of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava
