
The second edition of the PixelZest Games and Technology Festival will be held again in April in our Auditorium
The second edition of the PixelZest gaming festival is coming to Trnava again this year. Attractions will be prepared by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Mass Media Communication.
A programme full of games and fun awaits you during the weekend. You can look forward to various gaming zones with consoles and computers, virtual reality experiences, racing simulator circuits, board games and much more.
There will also be lectures on topics not only from the gaming world, but also competitions with prizes for all visitors. Families with children, as well as all gamers, will be able to enjoy unique entertainment thanks to the combination of the best of the world of games and technology during both days.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences has prepared the following activities:
- Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Simulated Robotics - Demonstrations of simulated agents that must solve given tasks in simulated environments using self-learning and neural networks. Various algorithms from the field of reinforcement learning and their learning principles will be presented.
- Network Security: SSH Honeypot and Server Security - a hands-on demonstration of the risks associated with the publicly available SSH service. An interactive presentation of an attack and its interception, with visitors able to see live attack logs and discuss the issue.
- Computer simulations and AI - presentation of basic simulations (Boids, Game of Life, genetic algorithms) used to model behaviour, which are also used in the gaming industry. It will also include a demonstration of AI technology for piano pedal control that improves the accessibility of piano playing.
- Serious Games and VR - a presentation of research in serious games and virtual reality used for education, training and simulation. Visitors will see how interactive VR environments help improve learning and practical skills in a variety of areas.
The Faculty of Mass Media Communication will prepare a programme inspired by the atmosphere of the UniCon festival in a smaller format:
- Retro gaming zone - a chance to play legendary titles on older consoles and computers.
Virtual Reality - a chance to immerse yourself in immersive worlds of VR games and interactive applications.
Student Game Projects - a presentation of games created by FMK students, where visitors can try out new concepts and discuss them with their creators.
The festival weekend will take place on 26-27 April 2025 in the premises of the UCM Aula at Bučianska 4 in Trnava. Both days will open their doors to visitors from 10.00.
