You are invited to attend a lecture by Olga Škvarenina, PhD, CSc., entitled "Nonverbal Communication in Academic Settings," which will take place on February 21, 2025 at 1 p.m. via MS Teams.
Nonverbal communication has an important role in the academic environment because it promotes interaction between students, faculty, and colleagues. Gestures, facial expressions, eye contact, body posture, touch, distance or tone of voice can significantly influence the effectiveness of lectures, discussions, presentations or personal conversations. Our practical talk focuses on the ways in which non-verbal cues shape the dynamics in classroom spaces, fostering understanding and building relationships both in and out of the classroom. It also highlights the risks that misinterpreting the body language of listeners and listeners or colleagues can bring.
