UCM participated in the prestigious APAIE 2024 event in India

The University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, together with other Slovak universities, participated in the APAIE (Asia-Pacific Association for International Education) 2025, a major international conference held this year in the Indian capital New Delhi, from 25 to 28 March 2025. This renowned event is one of the largest and most prestigious forums in the field of internationalisation of higher education in the Asia-Pacific region.

What is APAIE?

APAIE brings together universities, colleges, national agencies and institutions from around the world to promote collaboration and exchange in the field of international higher education. Each year, hundreds of representatives from universities and institutions come together to forge new partnerships, discuss trends in higher education and share examples of good practice in mobility, joint research projects or student support.

The importance of the event for UCM

For UCM, these conferences represent a key space to build and develop international partnerships. Participating universities have the opportunity to present their study programmes, research activities or mobility opportunities, which is essential for the development of global mobility and internationalisation. The acquired contacts and partnership agreements allow UCM students to take advantage of new opportunities for study and research stays abroad, and at the same time open the door for the university to host foreign students, lecturers and experts.

Results of participation

UCM has managed to establish dozens of new direct contacts with universities and institutions from countries such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, New Zealand and India. These new partnerships represent an opportunity to expand the range of international mobility opportunities for UCM students and staff, as well as new joint projects and exchanges in research and teaching. These contacts will contribute to an even stronger connection of UCM with the global academic space.

India as host country

India is not only a dynamically developing economy, but also a country with a rich culture, a long history and a strong emphasis on education. Its university sector is one of the largest in the world and brings a unique perspective based on traditional values and modern technology to the international arena. The host city of Chennai is also one of India's most important centres for education and research.

UCM's participation in APAIE 2024 confirms the University's ambition to strengthen its position in the field of international cooperation and to be an active part of the global academic community.
