UCM in Trnava and Knowledge University from Erbil enter into a key partnership at the global level
Our Alma Mater had the honour to welcome a delegation from Knowledge University in Erbil (Iraq), led by the Rector Ahmed Anwar Dezaye.
Knowledge University was founded in 2009 and is located in Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Erbil is the region's largest city with a population of more than 1.6 million. The university has six faculties: engineering, natural sciences, law, education, administrative and financial sciences and pharmacy. Each faculty offers different undergraduate and graduate programmes.
Plan for further cooperation
During their discussions, the two sides focused on specific internationalisation strategies and outlined the direction of joint projects. Among the key areas of cooperation, academic exchanges, joint research initiatives and the creation of new opportunities that would enrich both academic communities were mentioned.
Representatives of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Mass Media Communication of UCM were actively involved in the negotiations, exploring possibilities for further cooperation. The mutual optimism expressed by both sides indicates a deep confidence in the potential of expanding international partnerships and the benefits that can be derived from this.
This visit and the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation are a clear demonstration of UCM's commitment to building strong global networks. With such initiatives, the University continues to expand its horizons and open new doors for its global academic community.
