Russian Language and Culture in Professional Communication (Mgr.)

1. Knowledge:
-
Possesses a vocabulary of the language studied sufficient for understanding and active communication at the level of general topics
-
has a working knowledge of legal, economic and business vocabulary
-
acquire a conceptual apparatus and solid theoretical knowledge of linguistics and literary studies
-
learn the history of Russian literature in the context of European literature
-
learn about the realities of the Russian Federation in the fields of geography, history, culture and art
-
acquire general knowledge of the problems of intercultural communication (different values, different traditions, etc.)
2. Skills:
-
orientation in the way of thinking corresponding to the Russian mentality
-
can interpret and evaluate culturally determined facts related to the contemporary and historical social development of Russia, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation
-
can identify phenomena which could make intercultural communication difficult or impossible
-
can combine knowledge of Russian realities with the Slovak and European context and dynamically confront them with the realities of the native culture
-
can effectively use the acquired knowledge to overcome language and cultural barriers
-
can identify and verbalise cultural specifics or culturally conditioned non-verbal behaviour of a Russian culture bearer
-
is proficient in basic information technology and can use it effectively in practice
-
advanced skills in professional translation and interpretation of general and specialist topics
-
master the basic elements of business correspondence
3. Professional competences:

understands Russian communication on the basis of an audio presentation and can respond actively

reads original texts and understands Russian texts of high difficulty

expresses himself or herself orally without obvious problems at the level of communicative sufficiency

expresses himself/herself in writing in the context of normal general and professional communication

can translate written texts in both translational directions in general and professional communication
-
is able to interpret both general and professional speeches in both directions and to provide culturally oriented guiding services

be proficient in the skills associated with social communication in everyday life and business situations

be able to use knowledge of Russian literature and culture to establish personal relationships with partners from the target Russian region and to present oneself to them as a partner knowledgeable and sensitive to their culture

is able to use theoretical knowledge to complement the professional vocabulary in order to adapt easily to the conditions of the future job, - is ready to work in a team and to transfer his/her knowledge, skills and experience to other team members
