Russian language and culture in professional communication (Master's)

1. Knowledge:
- has a vocabulary of the studied language sufficient for understanding and active communication on the level of general topics
- he knows professional lexicon in the field of law, economy and business
- acquires conceptual apparatus and basic theoretical knowledge from linguistics and literary science
- get acquainted with the history of Russian literature in the context of European literature
- he knows the basic realities of the Russian Federation in terms of geography, history, culture and art
acquires general knowledge about the problems of intercultural communication (different value orientation, different traditions, ...)
2. Skills:
- he orients himself in a way of thinking corresponding to the Russian mentality
- can interpret and evaluate culturally determined facts connected with the current and historical social development of Russia, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation
- can identify phenomena that could make intercultural communication difficult or completely impossible
- can combine knowledge about Russian realities with the Slovak and European context and dynamically confront them with the realities of the mother culture
- can effectively use acquired knowledge to overcome language and cultural barriers
- can identify and verbalize cultural specifics, or culturally conditioned non-verbal behavior of the bearer of Russian culture
- he knows basic information technologies and knows how to use them effectively in practice
possesses intermediate skills in the field of professional translation and interpretation of general and basic professional topics - master the basic elements of business correspondence
3. Professional competences:
- understands Russian communication based on audio presentation and knows how to react actively
reads original texts and understands read Russian text of medium difficulty - he expresses himself orally without obvious problems in terms of communicative sufficiency
expresses himself in writing as part of normal general and professional communication - can translate written texts in both translation directions within the framework of normal communication and in basic professional areas
- is able to interpret common expressions in both directions and perform culturally focused guide services
- with the help of aids, he can translate and interpret even more demanding texts requiring professional training
- manages skills related to social communication in common life and business situations
- can use knowledge from Russian literature and culture to establish personal relationships with partners from the target Russian region and can present to them as a partner knowledgeable and sensitive to their culture
- knows how to use theoretical knowledge to supplement the professional vocabulary so that he/she can easily adapt to the conditions of the future employment

Note
When registering the application electronically:
- the applicant is obliged to save the application uploaded in AIS (electronic application) (the status of the application "registered" is not sufficient,
- we recommend using the electronic student book. Applicants who will graduate in the academic year 2024, submit a list of grades for the 1st to 3rd year (4-year study), or for the 2nd to 4th year (5-year study). The report card from the last year and the matriculation certificate must be delivered additionally by post to the study department.
- in case the applicant does not have the possibility to use the electronic student book, it is necessary to send certified copies of the documents by post to the study department,
in the attachment of the electronic application, the applicant uploads a CV and confirmation of payment of the fee for the admission procedure. - the applicant, who graduated before 2024, will deliver to the Study Department (in person or by post) certified copies of the report cards for the 1st to 4th year (4-year study), or for the 2nd to 5th year (5-year study) together with the school leaving certificate.
When applying in writing:
- the application along with all mandatory attachments must be sent by mail to the address: Study Department FF UCM, Nám. J. Herdu 2, 917 01 Trnava, or hand it in at the post office,
- applicants who graduate in the academic year 2024 send the report card from the last year of study and the matriculation certificate additionally by mail.

Documentation of education obtained outside the territory of the Slovak Republic.
The applicant is obliged to submit a decision on the recognition of a document on education obtained outside the territory of the Slovak Republic no later than the day of registration.

Information for international applicants to download
For the study of all study programs - including the study of foreign languages - knowledge of the Slovak language is required. Foreign students who do not have a high school diploma in the Slovak language or a university diploma from a Slovak university must take a language exam.
This condition does not apply to students with Czech citizenship.
It is necessary to register for the language exam in the online form no later than August 20, 2024.
Владение словацким языком требуется для всех учебных программ – включая иностранные языки. Для иностранных студентов, которые не подтверждают свой аттестат зрелости по словацкому языку или университетский диплом словацкого университета, сдача экзамена по словацкому языку является обязательной.
Это условие не распространяется на студентов с чешским гражданством.
Заявление о сдаче экзамена по словацкому языку должно быть подано в онлайн-форме не позднее 20 августа 2024 года.
