The graduate will have a developed complex of knowledge and skills, key abilities and skills, value attitudes and personal traits that will enable him/her to successfully perform the profession of teacher, to integrate into working and non-working social structures.
Education outcomes in categories:
1. Knowledge:
The graduate will master knowledge about the phenomena of pedagogical reality, educational processes and their factors, determinants of education and training, as well as knowledge about ways of learning about pedagogical reality, about pedagogical and didactic approaches, concepts and knowledge about solving various pedagogical situations. The graduate will master the knowledge of educational inclusion, the development of pupils' personalities and the application of diagnostic, intervention and evaluation activities. The graduate will master the knowledge of the scientific disciplines represented by his approval teaching subjects.
2. Professional competences in the areas of:
- A student - a graduate of master's education will be able to adequately identify the developmental and individual characteristics of the student, the psychological and social factors of the student's learning, and the sociocultural context of the student's development.
- The educational process - the graduate will master the content and didactics of teaching approval subjects, which are a combination of his study program, he will be able to adequately plan and project teaching, implement teaching, evaluate the course and results of teaching and student learning.
- Professional development - the graduate will adequately plan and implement his professional growth and self-development, he will be able to identify with his professional role and school.
3. Transferable competences:
The graduate will have a developed ability to handle stressful situations, the ability to work with information, the ability to take responsibility, the ability to identify and solve problems, the ability to work in a team and lead a team, the ability to think and act creatively and flexibly, communication skills, presentation skills, the ability to adapt with changed circumstances, the skill of written expression and the ability to work in an intercultural / international environment.

Teaching citizenship education (combined)
Graduates of teaching study programs have developed knowledge of biological, psychological and social aspects of individual development, know and understand the concept of institutional socialization process in broader social science contexts. The graduate has a comprehensive overview of the social structure of society, its statics and dynamics, understands the educational and other relevant needs and specifics of diverse social groups. He masters the issue of pedagogical work in the context of the diversity of the educated population. He has extensive knowledge about differences in the development of individuals resulting from their health or social disadvantages, or gifts and talents, so that he can effectively cooperate with special educators, psychologists and other experts and follow their professional recommendations and conclusions when implementing the educational process in the conditions of inclusive education. The graduate has extensive scientific knowledge in profile educational areas or specializations of his work. He knows the current state educational programs, he knows the theoretical foundations of designing, implementing and evaluating education and training. The graduate has extensive theoretical and practical connections between the content of education and professional didactics or didactics and methodology in the profile educational areas and specializations of their work. He has extensive psychological and didactic knowledge that allows him to understand the relationship between the processes of learning and teaching, education and upbringing of an individual and the dynamics of a social group. The graduate knows a wide repertoire of teaching strategies and methods. The graduate is oriented in the system of education and training in the Slovak Republic, in the legal regulations and curricular contexts of the performance of the teaching profession, knows the structure of the profession, the professional background of the field and the principles of professional ethics. He knows the methodological context of empirical research in pedagogical sciences.
Graduates of teaching study programs independently identify the developmental and individual characteristics and individual educational needs of the individual, accept the individuality of the student, have practical experience in identifying the psychological and social factors of individual learning, accept the diversity of students in the socio-cultural context. The graduate is familiar with generally binding legal regulations relating to the work of a teacher, in pedagogical and other documentation, in other conceptual and strategic documents and materials of the school. It applies pedagogical-psychological and professional-didactic knowledge in the educational process. He can independently evaluate various pedagogical situations and processes, react flexibly to them and solve them optimally. He can independently record, analyze and solve various pedagogical situations, he has the skills of effective planning, projecting, management and organization of the educational process in profile educational areas or specializations. Has extensive methodological skills in profile educational areas or specializations, including skills in the field of information and communication technologies. He carries out pedagogical assessment and evaluation independently and in an appropriate manner, he is capable of evaluating himself and ensuring his further professional development. Can effectively communicate and cooperate with the external environment (parents, foster carers, community, etc.). The graduate is able to carry out the investigation of pedagogical phenomena in the environment of education and training, to formulate the conclusions of his own investigation and has the ability to write academically.
The knowledge profile of a graduate of the 2nd level of the program Teaching citizenship education (in combination) is an integration of theoretical knowledge from the profiling disciplines of the study program and pedagogical-didactic competencies. A graduate of the 2nd degree of the study program Teaching citizenship education (in combination) is oriented in the field of his subject specialization and in its construction, possesses a basic conceptual and categorical apparatus from the disciplines - the main components of civics (philosophy, economics, sociology, political science, law , religious studies), masters their theory, methodology and epistemology, knows how to creatively apply, use and develop them based on individual work with professional and scientific texts and is equipped with didactic-pedagogical competences. Graduates acquire additional knowledge and skills through mandatory optional subjects that deepen and expand the level of mastery of profile disciplines.
The goal of our Master's study program Teaching citizenship education (combined) is to prepare the graduate to be able to:
- master the basic content of the disciplines of their specialization and the principles of its structure
- understand the methodology of the content production of the field and its wider cultural and social contexts
- deal with the content of the field as a product of human (scientific) activity, and in this context project it for didactic purposes and purposes
- to know the theoretical and practical connections of departmental didactics in the relevant specialization, especially with regard to the design of teaching in the school classroom
- to independently design and implement the teaching of relevant subjects at the level of lower and upper secondary education
- adapt educational programs in relevant disciplines to the specific conditions of students, school class and school type
- effectively communicate pedagogical and professional knowledge with the wider environment of the lay and professional community
- be aware of the legal, economic and ethical aspects of work in your field.
The specificity of our Master's study program Teaching citizenship education (combined) is the increased attention we pay to the current problems of contemporary humanity. We focus not only on the history of contemporary philosophical thinking, but also on topics that emphasize the place of modern man in the world and the problems of his value orientation (human rights, environmental ethics, global challenges of today, media education, technology and society, economics and decision-making), current social and legal issues (fundamentals of the state) and problems reflected by bioethics (bioethics). We are thus responding to the new challenges of the XXI century. century, which brings the dynamic development of modern technologies, including gene manipulations and biotechnology, to the field of humanities. In this way, we try to raise educators who will be able to respond flexibly to the current questions and problems of the current generation of students.

When registering the application electronically:
- the applicant is obliged to save the application uploaded in AIS (electronic application) (the status of the application "registered" is not sufficient,
- we recommend using the electronic student book. Applicants who will graduate in the academic year 2024, submit a list of grades for the 1st to 3rd year (4-year study), or for the 2nd to 4th year (5-year study). The report card from the last year and the matriculation certificate must be delivered additionally by post to the study department.
- in case the applicant does not have the possibility to use the electronic student book, it is necessary to send certified copies of the documents by post to the study department,
in the attachment of the electronic application, the applicant uploads a CV and confirmation of payment of the fee for the admission procedure. - the applicant, who graduated before 2024, will deliver to the Study Department (in person or by post) certified copies of the report cards for the 1st to 4th year (4-year study), or for the 2nd to 5th year (5-year study) together with the school leaving certificate.
When applying in writing:

The applicant is obliged to submit a decision on the recognition of a document on education obtained outside the territory of the Slovak Republic no later than the day of registration.

For the study of all study programs - including the study of foreign languages - knowledge of the Slovak language is required. Foreign students who do not have a high school diploma in the Slovak language or a university diploma from a Slovak university must take a language exam.
This condition does not apply to students with Czech citizenship.
It is necessary to register for the language exam in the online form no later than August 20, 2024.
