General characteristics of the professional profile of a graduate in combined teaching study programs:
The goal of master's education in combined teaching study programs is to prepare the graduate in a high-quality manner for the performance of the profession of a pedagogical employee in the category of teacher according to Act no. 138/2019 Coll. on pedagogical employees and professional employees and on the amendment of certain laws, for lower secondary education (teacher of the second level of primary school) and for lower secondary vocational education, secondary vocational education, complete secondary general education, complete secondary vocational education and teacher for higher vocational education (secondary school teacher). Profile of a master's degree graduate: The graduate will have a developed complex of knowledge and skills, key skills and abilities, value attitudes and personal traits that will enable him to successfully perform the teaching profession, to integrate into working and non-working social structures.
Education outcomes in categories:
1. Knowledge:
The graduate will master knowledge about the phenomena of pedagogical reality, educational processes and their factors, determinants of education and training, as well as knowledge about ways of learning about pedagogical reality, about pedagogical and didactic approaches, concepts and knowledge about solving various pedagogical situations. The graduate will master the knowledge of educational inclusion, the development of pupils' personalities and the application of diagnostic, intervention and evaluation activities. The graduate will master the knowledge of the scientific disciplines represented by his approval teaching subjects.
2. Professional competences in the areas of:
- A student - a graduate of master's education will be able to adequately identify the developmental and individual characteristics of the student, the psychological and social factors of the student's learning and the sociocultural context of the student's development.
- Educational process - the graduate will master the content and didactics of teaching approval subjects, which are a combination of his study program, will be able to adequately plan and project teaching, implement teaching, evaluate the course and results of teaching and student learning.
- Professional development - the graduate will adequately plan and implement his/her professional growth and self-development, will be able to identify with the professional role and the school.
3. Transferable competences:
The graduate will have a developed ability to handle stressful situations, the ability to work with information, the ability to take responsibility, the ability to identify and solve problems, the ability to work in a team and lead a team, the ability to think and act creatively and flexibly, communication skills, presentation skills, the ability to adapt with changed circumstances, the skill of written expression and the ability to work in an intercultural / international environment.
For approval:
1. Knowledge:
The applicant's theoretical knowledge will include an overview of historiography from the earliest times to the present, an overview of the public administration of the state units that existed on the territory of today's Slovakia. He/she will have the necessary knowledge package to use and understand archival institutions. He will become familiar with regional history, church history, gain an overview of ethnic development. He will acquire language skills (basics of Latin, German and Hungarian), which will enable him to access sources that he will be able to use in teaching. Through excursions, he will become familiar with specific historical areas and will be able to sell the acquired knowledge further in his practice. Get an overview of the history of pedagogy, focusing mainly on the history of history teaching in the 20th and 21st centuries.
2. Skills:
The graduate will acquire prerequisites for teaching history as well as scientific research in the field of historical sciences. He will acquire methodological skills for selling and imparting knowledge to pupils and students, also for research work, experience in the preparation and management of scientific projects, presentation of results at scientific conferences and their publication. He/she is able to participate in education at primary and secondary schools, as well as in the theoretical development of his scientific field, he can formulate a scientific problem, analyze it and, based on research, present it clearly and objectively in various forms of scientific synthesis (monograph, scientific study, project and etc.). He will get a didactic portfolio for teaching history, become familiar with typical and less typical teaching methods and resources and their appropriate implementation in the teaching of history based on the set educational goals. The skills will enable him to effectively design lessons, activate students and use professional knowledge in primary and secondary schools.
3. Professional competences:
The graduate will be able to use and orient himself in the professional terminology of the pedagogue and the historian and bridge both areas, which will provide him with space for effective and at the same time expertly based knowledge selling. He will orientate himself in modern research in order to be able to convey historical knowledge unencumbered by ideology. His didactic portfolio as a history teacher will enable him to transfer the results of the latest research into teaching while respecting the individual approach and differentiation of teaching. At the same time, he/she will be competent to independently acquire and apply additional knowledge in the form of possible continuing education or research. He/she will be competent to work independently in an archive or museum, he/she will be able to form comprehensive and expertly supported works, projects or lessons discussing general, Slovak and regional history.
4. Transferable competences:
During their studies, the graduate of the study program will learn the principles of professional formulation of the problem, the legal and ethical aspects of work, will acquire skills related to presenting their work results, and will also learn the ability to work in a team. He will think comprehensively, critically and in context. He can work with information, ask questions, solve problems. He/she will be able to formulate his/her thoughts and conclusions both orally and in writing. He can project, plan professional activities or use digital resources and, last but not least, his language readiness.

When registering the application electronically:
- the applicant is obliged to save the application uploaded in AIS (electronic application) (the status of the application "registered" is not sufficient,
- we recommend using the electronic student book. Applicants who will graduate in the academic year 2024, submit a list of grades for the 1st to 3rd year (4-year study), or for the 2nd to 4th year (5-year study). The report card from the last year and the matriculation certificate must be delivered additionally by post to the study department.
- in case the applicant does not have the possibility to use the electronic student book, it is necessary to send certified copies of the documents by post to the study department,
in the attachment of the electronic application, the applicant uploads a CV and confirmation of payment of the fee for the admission procedure. - the applicant, who graduated before 2024, will deliver to the Study Department (in person or by post) certified copies of the report cards for the 1st to 4th year (4-year study), or for the 2nd to 5th year (5-year study) together with the school leaving certificate.
When applying in writing:
- the application along with all mandatory attachments must be sent by mail to the address: Study Department FF UCM, Nám. J. Herdu 2, 917 01 Trnava, or hand it in at the post office,
- applicants who graduate in the academic year 2024 send the report card from the last year of study and the matriculation certificate additionally by mail.

The applicant is obliged to submit a decision on the recognition of a document on education obtained outside the territory of the Slovak Republic no later than the day of registration.

For the study of all study programs - including the study of foreign languages - knowledge of the Slovak language is required. Foreign students who do not have a high school diploma in the Slovak language or a university diploma from a Slovak university must take a language exam.
This condition does not apply to students with Czech citizenship.
It is necessary to register for the language exam in the online form no later than August 20, 2024.
