The teaching of students in the study program at the bachelor's level of study focuses on the acquisition and development of independent professional knowledge and thinking in the intentions of the key areas of the field of study media and communication studies in an inter- and multi-disciplinary and application context. And that with an emphasis on getting to know and understanding the media, their social-communicative, productive aspects and communicated information contents, as well as tools enabling their optimized (managed/directed) handling. The study program is specifically aimed at conveying theoretical knowledge, abilities and practical skills in the field of developing media, digital and informational competences based on the understanding of the media as a specific environment influencing and transforming people and social processes.
The graduate will acquire a wide range of theoretical knowledge in the field of ethical-axiological, anthropological, educational, psychological, sociological, marketing aspects of media and media communication. At the same time, the knowledge of these disciplines will be able to be applied in the identification and analysis of disinformation and conspiracy narratives, the operation of disinformation campaigns and the evaluation of information with potentially harmful effects on the individual and society. The profile of the graduate is specifically aimed at getting to know and creating strategies for the development of the so-called ecological approach to digital media, with an emphasis on critical thinking and fact-checking techniques, as tools of defense and prevention against online information disorders (fake news, hoaxes, hate speech) and digital media risks (cyberbullying, phishing, addictions). This emphasis is part of a more comprehensive theory of media learning.
On the basis of the acquired competences, the graduate can solve professional, methodical and practical tasks or problems in the broad media area and other areas of social practice, of which media are an integral part. Especially in areas where the media act as educational objects and means of influence on various target groups of individuals, or it is possible to note their formative influence in a wider social dimension. The graduate acquires the knowledge of implementing a simple form of research in the field of media communication, information flows, media and information competences. The acquired knowledge, methods, methodological and creative skills will be applied in the process of creating a bachelor's thesis and related research or application output.
During the course of study, thanks to the range of compulsory optional and optional subjects that are practically oriented, the student will acquire practical skills and abilities that will enable him/her to actively and creatively enter into projects aimed at developing media and information competences of various target groups (children and teenagers, teachers, seniors, state and public administration workers and others.). The student will also acquire skills that will enable him/her to participate in the management of information and information flows, knowledge and resources, as well as experience in the preparation and implementation of a wide range of media communications, as well as awareness-raising, educational, communication and social-marketing campaigns. . A graduate of the bachelor degree of the study program will apply as a creator and coordinator of media and information projects, a media analyst, a preventer of risk factors of information security and social media, a creator of media, information, awareness and prevention campaigns in the field of disinformation, fake news, extremist expressions and hybrid of threats, lecturer and methodologist with a focus on the development of critical thinking, media and information competence and media education.
a) Theoretical knowledge
A graduate of the bachelor's degree study program can use the information obtained from theoretically focused subjects to analyze phenomena, generalize knowledge and demonstrate relevant knowledge of media and communication studies and their applied areas. The graduate will acquire a wide range of theoretical knowledge enabling a more comprehensive view of the media, media products, contents and their effects in the context of individual and social significance. He will specially acquire knowledge in the field of axiological-ethical psychological, cognitive, sociological aspects of mediated communication, analysis of media communications, monitoring and evaluation of the quality of the information ecosystem. On the basis of theoretical knowledge in the field of media communication, media education, media ecology, media and information competences, and all their research areas, he can analyze and synthesize problems, assess individual aspects of the media environment and his/her potential impact on the individual and society. He has cross-sectional knowledge in the field of critical thinking, information and cognitive security, the factual context related to the issue of disinformation campaigns, conspiracy theories, hybrid threats, manifestations of extremism and other risk phenomena in the context of Internet communication. He gets an overview of the basics of copyright and media law, legislative options for the regulation of digital platforms and the protection of their users. He can communicate in foreign languages and has mastered the basics of language culture. Based on theoretical knowledge of media communication, work with information resources, management of information, knowledge and media contents and all its research areas, he can analyze and synthesize current problems and trends of the media and information environment and collaborate on their solutions.
b) Practical abilities and skills
Bachelor degree graduate of the study program:
- can obtain the necessary information from available sources, sort them, evaluate them and approach them critically,
- can interpret and creatively present media content and information,
- can work with information sources and data in various formats and is practically oriented in working with databases,
- can prepare professional information and analytical outputs from the field of media and communication studies,
- can project and organize educational activities in the field of media education and development of critical thinking
- is able to evaluate the effectiveness of various educational projects aimed at the development of media and information competences
is able to competently participate in all phases of creation, implementation and evaluation of research and development projects in the field of developing critical thinking and protecting the audience against fake news and hybrid threats - has the ability to apply in practice the methods of developing the cognitive, socio-affective side of the personality in relation to the media and their products as well as the sensory-motor skills of the individual
- can diagnose different types of media for the presence of manipulative and persuasive content and elements
- can create educational and didactic aids that can be used in the teaching and further educational process with the topic of media or learning about media
- has the ability to project, organize and manage information and educational campaigns with the aim of promoting the importance of media education and critical thinking
- manages work in various positions in the field of preparation, production, post-production and distribution of information, media releases and products,
- master the basic principles of audiovisual creation and selected multimedia procedures and can create audiovisual and multimedia genres and communications on various platforms that reflect the needs of social practice,
- master the basic principles of graphic design and is practically oriented in the available graphic tools,
- acquires the language and style necessary for the work of a copywriter or information content manager, especially with a focus on social marketing strategies, the development of media and information competence and the prevention of risk factors in the media environment
- master the methods and procedures associated with media planning, the selection of appropriate media and their use for strategic communication with the public,
- knows the possibilities and principles of communication in the social media environment,
- he orients himself in the issues of content marketing,
- master basic and selected advanced data analysis and visualization functions.

Bachelor degree graduate of the study program:
