Do you want to help people in challenging life situations while pursuing a profession that has meaning and impact on society as a whole? The Human Development in Social Work degree program offers you the opportunity to become an expert in helping others - professionally, sensitively and with understanding.
During your studies you will gain:
- A strong foundation in social work theory,
- practical skills in direct contact with clients,
- interdisciplinary knowledge in psychology, pedagogy, sociology, philosophy, law or ethics,
- professional practice in social services, education, schooling or health care settings,
- support in the form of supervision and mentoring.
You'll learn:

how to assess a client's living situation,

how to find and motivate those who need help,

what methods of work to choose in different situations,

how to provide counselling, rehabilitation, support in employment, in independence, in crisis,

how to represent the client in his/her rights,

how to manage administration and navigate the public administration system.
You specialise in working with different client groups:

seniors, children and young people, people with disabilities,
-
individuals in social crisis, victims of domestic violence, or from marginalised communities,
-
clients in work and social care institutions.
With us, you don't just learn "how to help" - you learn how to think, analyse, critically evaluate situations and find solutions. As part of your growth, you will also develop a bachelor's thesis based on your own research and knowledge of current trends.
After graduation, you will be prepared for a real-world career, whether in government, local government, the non-profit sector, health care, education or community services. You can also pursue a master's degree, pursue research or specialize in a specific area of practice.

Graduates of the professionally oriented bachelor's study programme Human Development and Social Work will find their application in the performance of professional activities in the field of sickness and pension benefits, state social support contributions, social services, assistance in material need, cash contributions to compensate for severe disability, assessment of dependence on social services, in the field of employment services, in the implementation of professional activities in the field of social prevention, socio-legal protection, social services. The graduate of the professionally oriented bachelor study programme Human Development and Social Work is competent to perform the following job positions:
- assistant social work assistant,
- community worker,
- counsellor,
- preventionist,
- school social worker,
- social rehabilitation worker,
- resocialization worker,
- provider of assistance in the exercise of guardianship rights and duties,
- provider of job placement assistance,
- care organiser,
- professional parent,
- counsellor - in the field of public administration clerk,
- provide assistance in the exercise of rights and legally protected interests,
- trainer in the development of personal interests, and the development of socially appropriate behaviour in the context of promoting independent living.
