The Public Administration study program is aimed at providing a comprehensive framework of knowledge, skills and competences in the field of public administration and public policy in an adequate scope of the first degree of university studies. Despite the fact that, in general, a bachelor's degree is perceived as preparation for further study and at the same time as a space for acquiring basic theoretical knowledge for understanding a given scientific or professional field, the presented study program responds to the needs of modern practice with its content focus and additional activities, which in increasingly requires comprehensive training of graduates in the field of public policy making, able to work independently in the public sphere. The study program is therefore developed on the basis of communication with experts from practice as well as employers and supplemented with activities for the overall development and preparation of leaders of public life, as well as creators and actors of public affairs or public administration. The results of the educational process focus on the preparation of graduates with complex skills and competencies with a practical focus, who are ready to independently analyze the current principles of public administration as well as the process of public policy functioning.
The prerequisite for obtaining such transferable competences is the fact that students have a relevant amount of knowledge in areas directly and indirectly related to the public sphere (political science, law, sociology, economics and economics, knowledge of scientific methodology, management, marketing, work with information, history). As part of the public administration study program, students will acquire basic and in-depth knowledge in the sense of preparation for the performance of their considered professions in the field of public administration at the level of state administration and territorial self-government, or in the structures of public corporations, at the same time they have the opportunity to benefit from the acquisition of knowledge in the public policy sector and institutions its management components.
Theoretical and practical knowledge of graduates:
A graduate of the bachelor's degree public administration study program in the education process acquires a wide range of theoretical knowledge, which enables him or her to navigate the processes of public policy and public administration management. At the same time, the student is able to think in an interdisciplinary context, precisely thanks to the theoretical knowledge obtained by studying professional subjects of related scientific disciplines as well as the ability to solve selected problems from practice obtained during the analysis of case studies from different areas (as part of the practical form of teaching within individual subjects). The student is able to identify problems of public administration and public policy and then uses an analytical approach to think about possible solutions, while being able to connect the complex knowledge acquired with practice, also thanks to the opportunity to gain practical experience for their future career already during their studies.
The student can apply the theoretical knowledge and acquired skills to several possibilities of professional practice, thereby verifying and deepening them into the form of practical competences, while using the latest scientific and technical knowledge from the practice of public administration and public policy, not only in Slovak conditions.
A graduate of the 1st degree of higher education (bachelor) of the public administration study program will acquire basic knowledge and skills in the scope and level adequate to the degree of study according to the Qualification Framework in the European Higher Education Area. This foundation determines the graduate's readiness for analytical tasks in the agenda of public affairs and organizations operating in this sphere, with guarantees of knowledge of the political, legal, economic, social and administrative space within the Slovak Republic as well as Europe.
Additional Abilities and Skills:
By completing the study program, the student will acquire the ability to work in a team and improve his communication techniques, as the study program also includes possible participation in professional student events, discussions and workshops. The graduate of the study program is able to communicate in domestic and international forums using professional language at the written and oral level, while at the same time developing his ability to communicate in the world-recognized language - English, by acquiring terminology related to the content of the study. The graduate demonstrates financial, economic and media literacy. The graduate is capable of cooperation and organization of work in work groups, can cooperate and make decisions, is able to think creatively and flexibly, is able to analyze needs, identify and name problems, propose solutions based on relevant work with information , can create, implement, monitor and evaluate individual components of public policy, is able to conduct empirical research and interpret its results, and apply research recommendations in practice. The graduate is prepared to understand the interdisciplinary contexts of the functioning of modern public administration systems and perceives the constant need for development and dynamism. Last but not least, the graduate acquires the ability to explain and make expert knowledge available to the lay public as well, thereby contributing to the development of awareness of the functioning of "good" public administration. The range of knowledge will allow the graduate to continue with the second degree of study, or allow him to enter practical life (see below).
Student qualifications that mark the completion of the first cycle of the qualification framework of the European Higher Education Area, namely:
- The student demonstrates knowledge and understanding in the field of study, which in this cycle builds on his/her general secondary education and subsequently develops and deepens it in accordance with the focus of their field of study;
- The student can apply his/her knowledge and understanding in a way that indicates a professional approach to his/her future work or profession, i.e. the student shows competences that are usually manifested through the preparation and implementation of a professional discussion using relevant argumentation in accordance with the rules of conducting a decent and professional discussion, when solving problems within the field of study;
- The student demonstrates the ability to collect and interpret relevant data and information in order to form his/her own professional position and judgement, i.e. possesses competences in the field of relevant social, scientific or ethical issues;
- The student knows how to adequately share the information obtained, his topics and ideas for solving problems, both with the professional and the lay public;
The student has a comprehensive framework of knowledge, personal and educational skills (including soft-skills) as well as competences that are necessary to continue further studies at II. level of education.

ADMISSION CONDITIONS FOR THE BACHELOR'S STUDIES:
Admission conditions for DAILY and EXTERNAL forms of study.
The basic condition for admission to bachelor's studies according to Act no. 131/2002 Coll. on universities and on the amendment and addition of certain laws, as amended, the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary professional education is completed by the matriculation exam.
For the admission of an applicant to a bachelor's study program, the following will be authoritative:
- grades from subjects on the matriculation exam,
- medical certificate (study program of social services and counseling) - applicants must deliver a medical certificate on the applicant's ability to carry out professional practice during their studies no later than on the day of registration.
The application for bachelor's degree studies includes a curriculum vitae, confirmation of payment of the admission fee, and a certified copy of the graduation certificate. Applicants who graduate in the academic year 2023/2024 will have their study results confirmed by the secondary school. The matriculation certificate (certified copy) will be sent to the applicant after the matriculation exam has been completed, or delivered for enrollment.
Applicants for study will be ranked based on the result of the matriculation exam.
Study applicants will be conditionally admitted to the study, with the condition that they must additionally submit their graduation certificate no later than on the day of registration for the study.

The applicant can submit applications for the study of several study programs, he will indicate only one study program on one application. The applicant pays the fee for each submitted application separately to the faculty account number by bank transfer.

- B.Sc. study programs:

Annual tuition fees for a secondary education program conducted exclusively in a language other than the state language (the obligation to pay tuition fees arises only if a public higher education institution in the academic year in which the student began studying this study program accepted students for studies in the same field of study and degree in the study program that is also carried out in the state language): €1,000
The annual tuition fee of the SP conducted exclusively in a language other than the state language for a student who is not a citizen of a member state, nor does he have a permanent residence in a member state: €2,500 per year.
Fee for rigorous proceedings: €700
