It makes sense to help. Our Christmas Wish Tree will make children's Christmas more beautiful
This year the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava brought joy to the children from the Centre for Children and Families in Trnava (CDR).
The "Children's Christmas Wish Tree" event allowed students, staff and other supporters to make the dreams of children who are not as fortunate to grow up in a complete family come true.
Dozens of people from our campus participated in the charity event, picking up an ornament with a specific CDR child's wish in the lobby at Herd. Together, they purchased 39 gifts for each CDR child, and Rector Katarína Slobodová Nováková and Vice Rector Andrej Brník took them directly to CDR under the Christmas tree. The children will open their Santa Claus as it is customary - on Christmas Eve.
"Each gift symbolizes more than just a material object. It is an expression of love and proof that someone is thinking of these children." As the Rector went on to say, "Helping is deeply meaningful because with every good deed we create a better world - for others and for ourselves."
The idea, which is becoming a tradition at the facility during Christmas, also delighted CDR Director Bystrik Mitas. "With a small, tangible gift, you were able to bring a much more important dimension to the children we care for - you were able to pour into their children's hearts the feeling that you care about them and that they can be loved. May you be rewarded for your decision to do good, to give love and to make the children's Christmas Eve a little bit more beautiful by their childlike smiles and the joy they can experience because of you," said Mitas.
This initiative not only helps the children, but also the donors who have felt the joy of giving and helping. "I was most impressed by the modesty of the children, who did not want any expensive items, but rather basic items such as headphones or cosmetics," said Brník.
Thank you to everyone who contributed. Thanks to you, this Christmas will be a little happier for the children at the Center for Children and Families. Events like this remind us of the true essence of Christmas: sharing joy, love and hope.
