Land and Communities
The project examines the significance of cultural heritage and social factors that influence land management. It includes field research in selected locations, which involves physical presence, surveys, and the identification of ecological communities, sites with developing eco-tourism, or ecological farming. The goal is to analyze the impact of these "eco" phenomena on local communities, their way of life, as well as on the perception of nature, land, and environmental protection. The research also assesses changes in value orientations in the broader microregion that have occurred due to the long-term presence of these communities.
The research will employ the oral history method, which allows for the collection of oral histories and knowledge about the significance of land for specific communities. Visual and audio sources of information related to land will be documented, providing a deeper insight into the relationship of communities with the land and changes in this relationship over time.
The research will also focus on the development and prospects of ecological communities in Slovakia. Through proven methodological approaches, it will contribute to the dissemination of effective strategies in sustainable land management and protection.
