The initiative seeks to bring the principles of the circular economy to the forefront through modern education, gamification, as well as community projects.
The project wants to develop young people's awareness of sustainability in the context of digital transformation and active citizenship. It combines modern educational approaches, from games to training to community events, to make the benefits as big and, most importantly, fun as possible.
One of the main objectives of CIRCLES is the development of an educational curriculum and syllabus for youth workers and university environments that will cover the basic principles and practices of the circular economy. The project also includes the development of an interactive digital game that will introduce young people to the sustainable principles of the circular economy in a fun way. In addition, the researchers will support local community projects to implement sustainable practices and raise awareness of the circular economy.
Through these activities, it is expected to increase environmental awareness and digital literacy among young people, the adoption of sustainable practices, and the acquisition of skills in digital tools that will promote environmental advocacy and strengthen young people's engagement in civic and social entrepreneurship activities.
The project runs from 2024 to 2026 with an allocated grant of €250,000 and is implemented in collaboration with the following partners:
University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (Slovakia)
BADESHTETO SEGA (Bulgaria)
